DC Takes Crease, Police Commissioner Bowls for Voter Awareness Match in Dharwad
Dharwad, March 31: In a unique initiative, the Dharwad district administration and the SVEEP committee organized a cricket tournament today to promote voter awareness. The event, held at the KCD ground, saw top officials take to the field, highlighting the importance of exercising one’s right to vote.
Deputy Commissioner Steps Up to Bat: Setting the tone for the day, Deputy Commissioner Divya Prabhu donned the batting pads and inaugurated the tournament with a symbolic first strike.
Police Commissioner Delivers the First Ball: Adding a touch of friendly competition, Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar took the bowling duties, sending down the first delivery to the DC.
A Call for Strong Voter Participation: In her opening address, Ms. Prabhu emphasized the importance of elections as a celebration of democracy. She urged all voters, particularly educated residents in urban areas, to actively participate by casting their ballots.
Innovative Campaign for Increased Turnout: ZP CEO Swaroop TK highlighted the various voter awareness programs being conducted to achieve a 75% voting target in the upcoming elections. This cricket match exemplified the district’s commitment to innovative outreach strategies.
